Energy Rebates for Businesses in Adelaide City
To encourage the transition to green energy, many local councils are now providing financial incentives to support businesses in adopting cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable energy systems. Both Salisbury Council and Adelaide City Council have introduced generous energy design rebates, which can also be combined with the South Australian battery rebate program starting from July.
Eligible upgrades include:
Solar installation – 20% rebate up to $2,500 depending on system size
Battery installation / Energy storage – 50% rebate up to $1,000
EV charger installation
50% up to $250 for electric bicycle charging stations
50% up to $1,000 for EV one-way charging stations (7 kW to <50 kW)
25% up to $2,000 for EV “smart” charging stations (7 kW to <50 kW, with demand management or two-way charging capability)
Switchboard upgrades – 50% rebate up to $5,000 to support electrification, solar, batteries, or EV charging (pre-commitment required)
Appliance electrification – 50% rebate up to $10,000 for replacing gas appliances with electric or solar-powered alternatives (e.g., hot water systems)
By stacking council rebates with state incentives, commercial projects can achieve significant upfront savings while building a more sustainable and future-proof energy system.
